White (beige) and light blue colored urushi (lacquer) is layered approximately 50 times, with variations in stripe patterns achieved through the depth of carving. The base layer is green, visible in a little places. The lid is wooden, with a knob made of solid black urushi depicting a water droplet, hollowed out into a circle. The surface of the knob and the circular center of the upper half of the flowers are decorated with gold maki-e. |
