[73rd Japan Traditional Kogei Exhibition] Notice of Selection

I am honored to announce that my work has been selected for the 73rd Japan Traditional Kogei Exhibition. This is my first selection since I resumed my artistic practice in 2024.
A close-up view of my work Resonance of the Southern Seas, created using the dry lacquer (kanshitsu) and carved lacquer (choshitsu) techniques, which has been selected for the 73rd Japan Traditional Kogei Exhibition.

For this exhibition, I have created a piece titled "Resonance of the Southern Seas". It features a unique form, achieved by carving the top of a spherical box made with kanshitsu, finished with intricate choshitsu (carved lacquer).
I poured my heart into capturing the rich colors of the tropical sea and the swaying of its waves, as well as the profound resonance from its depths. I would be delighted if you could see the layered colors and delicate expressions born from the time-consuming process of applying and carving lacquer in person at the exhibition.
